Hartford
The French brand Hartford was founded in 1979 by Yves Chareton, emerging from the idea of reinterpreting classic American wardrobe. The starting point was rare Oxford and chambray fabrics from New York, from which the first Hartford shirts with authentic vintage character were created. To this day, the brand combines American casualness with French elegance – a blend that makes Hartford unmistakable.
What particularly distinguishes Hartford is its sense of effortless style. Inspired by California, the Hamptons, 60s surf culture, and the French Atlantic coast, collections for men and women are created that appear relaxed yet sophisticated. Linen shirts, washed cotton, fine knitwear, and soft jackets are at the heart of it all – clothing that is meticulously crafted and appears even more natural with each season.
Hartford's particular strength lies in its fabrics and fits. The finest European materials are used, such as French linen, cotton from Albini in Italy, or high-quality wool and cashmere. The collections are deliberately timeless and work equally well in summer and winter – light and airy in the warm season, soft and structured in the colder months. It is precisely this relaxed elegance that makes Hartford a brand you don't just wear, but live.
